Playing 4 years as starting goalie in the ultra competitive arena of Division I lacrosse taught Amy Carlos—known by her riders as "Coach Amy"—everything she needed to know about the benefits of rigorous physical training. Amy never considered herself a natural athlete, so she felt she had to lead by example—by running longer, playing harder, giving more—to deserve her position on the team. She carries this same training mentality into the heated room, teaching her riders that pushing beyond perceived physical limits is not a matter of ability but rather a matter of willingness to get uncomfortable and grow. She does her best to make everyone feel they are part of the "team” by encouraging every rider to give everything they've got. Consistent, form-driven focus, delivered with the confidence of a veteran coach, best describes her morning grinder: hard work served with a smile. Amy feels her greatest satisfaction when she sees a rider make a physical breakthrough during class. Musically, she loves everything! You'll hear an eclectic mix of classic rock, hip hop, gangster rap, EDM, bubble gum pop, and dance, with a 90s curveball thrown in every once in a while. A New England native, the Patriots are like family, so be careful what you say about Tom Brady. She loves spending every spare moment with her daughter and husband. When you take Amy's class, she may remind you at some point that "when you're going through hell, keep going."
